BIG HUGE LABS

BIG HUGE LABS is another free, fun, and educational web 2.0 site that makes puzzles, maps, pic cubes, mosaics and many other items from your digital pictures. Here is a link to a picture cube we made of the students in our Chatham tech class.

"Big Huge Labs" is a great site for artists or those aspiring artists. I would love to use many of the projects either with my class such as: a calendar, cube or trading card. I wish I had this technology when my own children were young!

There are alot of great ideas here that kids would love to create. The puzzles though are 250 pieces. I wish the they were available in a size more friendly to younger students.

I wonder how sad Tara is that she isn't part of our picture cube? I'm sure she'll get over it. :)

I've signed up for an account. There is so much here, some cool others not. Its a nice tool to have but I wouldn't use it that much (I think)

The map tool looks like it might be useful. I might use it to track the countries we studied in a unit or a year.

Magazine Cover or Hockneyizer could be the basis for student projects.

The dice tool could make interesting games.

The creative possibilities will be endless in the classroom, and I plan to make photo gifts with this site.

I think I could see myself using the motivator, movie poster or magazine cover tools in an English class...the other items may not be very applicable or age-appropriate for high school. Some of the game tools may work.
